Welcome to the site from Truman lake. I don't know anything about it but KCMO crappie slayer fish's there and should chime in with some info. He has had some good luck fishing there.
Anybody know anything about the East/West silt basins?.....

Welcome from Marshall MO
I fish the main part of the lake once in a while, haven't got into the silt basins. I will try and check them out when I go again, possibly in a couple of weeks.
Looking at the map I have, don't think you can launch a trailered boat, maybe an inflatable or a canoe you can take down the trail.
If you do, please post what you find out.

Here are a couple of todays fish with a lil background to give yo an ideal of how the basin looks.

well i was out there last wednesday. only caught 2 little 5 inch crappie. there are some good un's in there i know. i have a tough time keeping a pattern going unless it's the springtime. noticed a lot of hydrilla (spelling?). i caught a 2.1 lb 16 inch black crappie out of there this spring. and i know there's bigger. talked to a couple guy's back at the ramp. they had 17 caught on jig's. it was an area i usually don't fish but i do seem to remember were they were fishing the whole time i was out there. gonna try and get out there this week if i'm feeling alrite and the wind die's down. and it doesnt get to cold, and if it doesn't rain, and well nevermind i'm winded, shew!
why do today what you can put off til tomorrow, go fishing instead!!!
Im out at Maple Leaf about 4 times a week. If you see a lil red Nissan pickup with "Jack Duren Cabinets" on the back glass dat il be me....
