Good rule of thumb is 3oz per gallon. It's a little heavy but not enough to foul the plugs when I did this.

Walmart sells a container, in the oil section, that you put your oil in that has all the measurements on the bottle.

I found it to be easier to stop the gas pump on the oil whole oz amount. I printed this chart and taped it to my boat near the gas fill using clear tape to protect it from weather. As my tank is nearly full, I stop the pump at the nearest gallon amount that matches the oil amount.

I always forget what ratio to mix mine at, however I do remember that for every 5 gallons I add 1/2 a small bottle. I like simple math. :D

I dont know what you are considering a small bottle but if it a 16oz. pint you are not using enough. A full pint is good for 6 gallons in most cases.

My 1957 Johnson has a mix of 24:1, not the 50:1 of more modern engines.
