Is this a good way to troll for crappie?

This multi pole spider setup looks interesting... anyone have success with this specific setup or something similar? It's too long...but watch the first minute to get a gist of what I'm talking about:

That is basically the same setup/method I use......

I use a 1 hook rig seen here....



The rig is just a matter of preference in what you feel comfortable using.....

My rod setup is similar...seen here...



Troll verrry slow over likely crappie holding areas...creek ledges...brush piles...etc...

Minnows or jigs is also a matter of preference.....

Been fishing this way for a couple years. Great way to fill the freezer, especially in winter. Around here, this is by far the most popular way of fishing.

Been spider rigging a long time and you can catch lots of crappie. You can use different set ups for the lake you fish and the depth the crappie are holding in.

Just went to that setup, after Capps and Coleman rig, then Kentucky rig, didn't have a bite in 3 hours so poles and boat are in storage untill i can't stand it any longer(didn't try the large monnows so will next trip.

Started spider rigging 8 poles off the front of my boat this past spring. It isnt a gauranteed "fill-your-cooler-every-trip" method of fishing but once you find 'em and get used to fishing the long poles you'll catch ALOT of fish. And it's ALOT of fun catching fish on those long flimsy poles too.

I love this exact rig except I use 1 ounce weights sometimes depending on the depth. I have been using this rig for about 6 years or more. You can also put plastic curly tail grubs or other plastics on the hooks and still catch them.
