What sonar "pings" look like...pics

I am fed up with the sonar folks not sharing their info (so called propitiatory secrets). It is not secret. I plan to scope sonar out and show it off over a period of time. You fellers and fellerettes stay tuned as you might learn something. I am gonna spill the beans.......

Billbob came down for a few days and we scoped some stuff out. Interesting stuff. I will explain the stuff as I proceed. It will take some time.

I was a sonar tech in the Navy. That was the last time I saw images of "pings". Unfortunately, I can't seem to remember much beyond the basics. But you are correct, It is just a noise. I would think it would be hard to consider a sound made by a transducer a secret if you can use a O scope to see it and measure the freak, wave length, etc. Very interesting though. I assume the rapid fire was the unit trying to find a return?
