    Default Ugly Stick

Anybody use the Ugly Stick Ultra Light poles?

I have broken off the tips on all my crappie poles and am considering a Ugly Stick. Its in the right price range, about $40 at BPS.

You won't break an ugly stick! Are you talking about the ugly stick lite? Or an ultra light?

We use the 6.5 or 7 foot Ugly Sticks in Micro Lite. They are durable and sensitive, excellent rods for any money. We used BPS's best ultra lites but they kept breaking the tip off. We broke two with fish on and one with the trolling motor on. :D The BPS rods were guaranteed and they replaced two free of charge. However, the guarantee is of little use in the heat of battle, a broken rod is useless. We have 7 Ugly Sticks now and have had no problem with any of them. Worry about catching fish, not breaking your rod.

I've never had a bad ugly stick. You can't go wrong with them

I like the Ugly Stick CRAPPIE RODS with the clear tip and 7 year warranty. I have the 8' and 9' for the spawn.

With all the "broken rod" threads I've seen over the last few years, I'm amazed that anybody would buy anything but an Ugly Stik. You could pull stumps with them. They are the M1 tank of the rod world.

I have 8 Ugly Stick Light Pro's, the ones with the cork handles. They are all in ultra light action, 5' and 7' legnths for night fishin. I've had them for a while now. I havn't broken a single one. They are tuff. Plenty sensitive too.

What about the the 10' and 12' ugly stick jigging rods, are they as strong as the shorter rod's? I use 10' ozark jigging rod's now but I can get the ugly sticks alot cheaper.
