Default How Many Rods And Reels?

I am new here and have enjoyed reading hundreds of past posts and am looking forward to learning more in the future.

Here is my question. My wife about had a cow when she started counting my rod and reel setups in the garage. (I didnt think it was any of her business but she sure did) I currently have close to 50 rods and reels that are fully functional and ready to fish. Some may think its excessive but I think its a good conversation piece when friends come by... My question is how many do you guys (and ladies) have? (I told her that there was not a daily limit or posession limit on rods and reels in Illinois...)

24 total...but I have a secret...most of my rods and reels are the same...I never put them all in one spot...the wife thinks I have half as many!
Same with my guns...I favor Ruger revolvers and Marlin lever guns...the Marlins all look basically the same...the Rugers are all stainless...so they look the same...the trick is to never have them all in one place...LOL!
Hmmm?...I wonder if she reads this forum?

HAHA! Not a chance she reads this forum! (i hope...) My garage is only so big so I dont have much choice as to where to put them. Its only a 1 car and there is not room for a car. Just fishing, hunting, and woodworking equipment... She is real happy about that too... haha. She is really wonderful but like many wives does not understand fishing and fishing equipment... Thanks snal!

Let's see not for sure but
40 spinning for Crappie-lite weight and ultra lite
12 spinning for Walleye-lite and medium
    10 Bait Casters
    8 close faced spinning
    1 trigger spin
    1 fly rod
35 assorted ice fishing poles about half without reels on them just jigging poles.
    6 tip-ups
I think that about does it.

    Lessee -
    Doug-
    1 WM 12 jigging pole
    2 baitcasters
    1 heavy catfish combo
    2 ULs
    1 Shimano medium combo
    1 ice jigging combo

    Me
    1 heavy catfish combo
    1 Mitchell 300X combo
    2 ULs
    1 ice jigging combo

Then there are a couple or three Zebco closed reel combos for when the in-laws are up and a spinning combo we rescued from the lake this spring. That about does it. I have soem fly rods and reels, too, but they're not ready to go. We keep the six most used rod and reels in a rack at the kichen door. - Roberta

i'VE GOT 65 IN TOTAL. THE SECRET IS TO DIVIDE THEM UP SO THE WIFE
DOESN,T SEE THEM ALL TOGETHER. I'VE GOT SOME IN THE BASEMENT,
GARAGE, PONTOON BOAT, BASS BOAT, LOCKER AT THE SLIP AND IN THE
SMALL SHED OUT BACK. IF SHE EVER SAW THEM ALL TOGETHER, SHE WOULD
WANT TO GO SHOPPING FOR HER STUFF FOR SURE.

You guys crack me up with the ways of getting around the wife :D
What really gets mine going is when I have six or eight identical - multiple
rod trolling. And, a half dozen or dozen identical baits. I admit, I just
    like collecting the stuff, anyway.

What gets my wife is when I spend the whole evening before going fishig re-arranging my tackle box and re-spooling the reels.
I can't leave now; They fixen to turn on.
