    Default An evening's catch

My grandson and I spent a few hours crappie fishing at a local lake the other evening. At seventeen now, he's become quite a fisherman.

Good looking stringer! How were ya'll catching them? Depth, style, etc.
Keep some for the pan, let the larger ones go back for another day!

We caught them on white/silver tinsel jigs (1/32 & 1/16) that I made.

The lake is a long-abandoned gravel pit that has several submerged brush piles. We were s-l-o-w-l-y retrieving the jigs so they just ticked the top of the brush. About 8 feet below the surface in 15 feet of woter.
