    Default Where would you go?

Here's what I hope is an interesting question. If you were determined to catch a truly gigantic crappie (black or white), and you had the time and money to go ANYWHERE in the USA, where would you go and what time of the year would you go? To answer this question will require a knowledge of what waters in the USA regularly produce huge slabs. We all know that many waters in many states hold an occasional monster (19"+ and over 4 lbs), but the odds are much higher in some lakes. So....when and where would you go?

    It depends... LOL

One thing to consider is what the state biologists can tell you. In other words, a good spawn year in 2006 would be giving you some very good 12-14" crappie right now. So I think I would research which lakes had the best spawns in the proper year to produce high numbers of big fish right now.

Here are 3 where you can find 2-3 pounders at various times of the year... in order of preference...

    1. Lake of the Woods (Minnesota)
    2. Millwood Resevoir (Arkansas)
    3. Deep Creek Lake (Maryland)

    Go get 'em!

Yep don't even have to consider other options. Only place I ever actually caught a 3 pound crappie.
