Yes the side imaging is great stuff, nice to know & be able recognize stuff underwater.
Last week Wally Marshall met me half way at Miller Creek lake. He had his new boat, loaded with goodies. One of them being the Hummingbird SI unit, and he took me to school.
I know this lake......at least I thought I did. We spent the better part of the day just looking. Wally began to show the results to me in order of seasonal fishing patterns. Summer, fall, winter. We found humps in deep water that should be great in the winter and heat of summer, mid depth holes and ledges that I never knew existed, a lot with trees or brush on them. Places where the riprap on the dam extended a lot futher out into the lake.
I've been reading you guy's posts and seen the pictures, but until I got to see the SI in action there was no way to really understand how they can revolutionize fishing.
Thanks, Waldo, old dogs can learn new tricks!!

And after you leave the Cane Poles you can stop by N. Ga. or I will come to your home lake.

If I had been by myself, I would still be trying to figure out how to turn the unit on!! I can see how it takes time to learn what you are seeing. Most of the time, I couldn't tell that he was marking something until we went to it. You can see something 50' off the side, stop the screen while you're still moving, move the cursor to the area you want, and mark it with gps. Then turn around and go right to it. Amazing stuff.
