    Default JBledsoe-Brownlee report

Sorry it took so long to answer your question, been putting in long days.I have been doing well out on the Snake. The algae is pretty thick in the Powder although it was a lot clearer yesterday than earlier in the week. Lots of fishermen in the Powder and my gut feeling is they are not catching much. I metered some spots there and didn't see much so headed out to the Snake. Look in the 30' range for a school that comes up to about 15'. Orange/chart tubes on 1/16 oz heads worked well. Crappie nibbles injected into the tube with the Bait Pump as usual. We are catching fish from the spawn of 06 and not much else. My clients who fish Owyhee tell me the Owyhee fish are a little bigger.
Yesterday's catch for a party of 4, 255 kept in 5hrs of fishing

Limits? What limit? Brownlee is a boundary water body between Idaho and Oregon and neither state has a limit on crappie which are not considered game fish. This is Trout and Salmon country, anything else is a non-fish fish. :D

    .

    Thanks for the update, Gary

We are thinking of giving it a try after the holidays when everyone else has gone home.

I go often, Bill, I live close (60 - 100 mi.) and fish that hole often. I have a picture of a cooler full of fish that looks just like Gary's but I have not learned to post pictures yet.

Nice catch jbledsoe. I some times go to Cambridge and head west from there to Brownlee Dam. Some times I go to Huntington and lounch my boat. I have fished in and around Powder River where it enters Brownlee pool. I haven't got a Oregon license so can't go in very far, only fish the mouth at border line.
