the two jigs are tied about 18 in to 2 ft arart on your line
1/8 to 1/4 oz jig heads with whatever color of tubes-twister tails you like
cast out and count down whatever depth you need to find the fish
what speed you need
Hello All,
Brand new to the message boards and crappie.com. I fished Lake Shelbyville (Central Illinois) yesterday for approx. 5 hours and caught 0 (yes thats zero) fish. Not even a baby bluegill... With the coldfront that came through the night before I wasnt expecting a limit by any means but thought I could have at least caught 1 short fish.
My question is a lot of guides on Shelbyville swear by what they call the 2 jig rig for white bass and crappie. I was curious if anyone knows the exact setup they are talking about. (I am assuming it is not the crappie rigs you can buy at walmart or any other sporting goods store) Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
I have really tried to learn all I can about crappie fishing and it sure seems there are a lot of knowledgeable folks on this board. I hope to learn from all of you and share some of my experiences as well. Thank You.

Some tie a heavy sinker on the bottom of the line and come up X amount of inches, tie a dropper and then go up X amount of inches and tie another and put jigs or hooks on the droppers. I think its called the Kentucky crappie rig, could not find a photo of it to show. I also think Steve McCadams made it famous.
