Default Sunday Afternoon On The Grand

On water at 12:30, off at 6:00, launched at Deepwater. Clicked on 17 keepers, all released. Started out 8-10' on flats, caught some keepers 10-11". Hit a slow spell mid afternoon and then some better quality in 12-16 fow adjacent to channels and 10' down minimum, some deeper. Weighed two biggest at 1-5 and 1-4 (both measured right at 14") two or three others right around a pound I'd guess. All the larger fish came on an old cold front favorite, pink / white, also white / chart caught some. Had a pesky north wind which made it feel like anything but August. I wore shorts when left the ramp but was scrambling for a pair of wind pants in short order.

Sounds like a great afternoon. Seems more like October today than the end of August. The fish we caught up that way mid week were thick and had there belly full of shad. Almost looked like they were ready to spawn they had so many shad in there gut. Congrats on a good afternoon.

I'd agree with that 100%, the better fish especialy 11+ plus are fat as butter balls. Very little surface shad activity today that I found but clouds on the graph at times.

Good job Kaz. Don't let taken OSS later this week slow the bite.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, rather to skid in sideways, body used up and totally worn out screaming 'WOO~HOO what a ride!'

I did to run back to Deepwater this evening. That wind was a biter and it got rough enough at the mouth of Deepwater Creek to get some spray flying around.

:D Chris it will depend if they choose to bite when he's not taking a nap, I have no control one way or the other.
