    Question Fishfinder mounting plate question?

I am looking for a hard plastic mounting plate that is about 3 x 6. I have bolts in an area on my boat and I wanted to mount the plate with them and then mount my fishfinder to it so I can pull the fishfinder on and off easily. Any suggestions on what I can use for a plate? I tried a 3 gang switch plate and it was too flimsy.

Go to Wallyworld and get a plastic type kitchen cutting board, and cut it to the size you need. I then use velcro the hold it to my boat. It's fine on the boat, but I would never trust it trailering here in the land of potholes!

You guys are the best, I knew you guys would have a good answer. I don't even need to go to wal mart I have 3 new boards in the basement, they are with all of our wedding gifts. My wife won't let me put the stuff on ebay the least she could do is give me one of the boards to use on my boat instead of collecting dust in the basement.:D

Just in case your boards are not thick enough to accept the size screw you want to put on the transducer.

    Transducer Mounting Plate

I have one on my boat in black. Only issue is the screw wanted to back out just a bit due to slip on the delrin. Solved that by dabbing a bit of 3M 4200 on the threads. It'd be better to use a machine screw, I think the point of the screw was the issue causing the slip.

I bought a swivel/disconnect base for my lowrance, and It's great. 3 holes to mount, unplug wires and push a button and the unit is in your hand. BPS about $30, worth every nickle.

... Johnny Ray Swivel Mounts :p Johnny Ray Sports, Inc.

I've purchased a few of them, myself ... one is still functioning on my old boat, that I sold, and it's a 1984 model boat. Two others are still functioning on my fishing partners boat, and they're probably 20yrs old, themselves. :D

Don't forget to check out the RAM mounts. I have a Johnny Ray for my transom locator and RAM mounts on the front graph and for me it will be the RAM mounts from now on.
