5.5 Evinrude Outboard 1964
The motor had set up for a while when I bought it and replaced many parts: Fuel pump, Float, Seat, Needle, Carb Seals, Fuel line, cleaned the points etc.
Bought for $200 and now have around $350 total invesment in motor. Carb float needs to be adjusted to reach max rpms and I don't have the know how nor the desire to spend any more for someone to adjust.
$200 Firm
I'd appreciate it if someone would PM me and tell me what they think about this motor.
I don't have a need for that small a motor, but if I did, that would definitely be a good clean choice. I think it looks like a winner.
Quit complaining about the color, just pull up your skirt and fish! -- snagged
I've had a few older Johnson's and Evinrude's and that is as clean as you can get for a motor that year. They're dependable. I always had to get by the previous owners neglect but once that was done, business as usual. I had a '56 5.5 Johnson with all the labels and manual. Never needed more than 12" of starter rope to make her cook. I'd keep it and find a wider than normal aluminum boat to keep it on. Just for fun, great for trollin.
