    Default Weiss

It has been a long time since I have fished Weiss. A couple of friends are wanting to come down this fall I know things change but what would be a time in the fall for a 3 day trip. Pull jigs? 1/24 seems to come up when you mention Weiss. Thanks.

In the fall it would be best to bottom bounce the river channel ledges on the upper Coosa about mid Oct should be right in the middle of the best time.
Should start about the end of Sept

    Default Fall crappie,

Doc's right I would fish the ledges 12-16 ft deep. Main river ledges seem to turn on first near Bay Springs up to Yellow Creek, (are my personal choice.)
Forget about pulling jigs unless you just like to ride around with the trolling motor. Minnows are the way to go. GOOD FISHING, Terry.

Terry and Laserdoc are definitely "in the know" for Weiss. I'd do exactly what they said, oldwun.

    yes,
Use a 3/4 or 1/2 oz weight ,come up about 18 inches and tie off a laser blade with a minnow or a regular minnow on a hook. Drop it down until you hit bottom and give it one or two turns up from the bottom. Just make sure your on the ledge of the river channel. Thats where they will be. 12 to 14 foot area
