Default The thanks you get for doing the right thing.

The other day an old man brought a wallet into the Dollar Gen. where my wife was the manager on duty. He had found it in the parking lot.
She could have put it away somewhere and waited for someone to come looking for it and done what she wanted to with it after some time passed. Instead, she had the other girl working with her escort her to the office under the cameras and counted it ON CAMERA with the other girl as a witness. $200.00 NO id in the wallet.
At the end of her shift she took it to the police where they gathered every piece of info. from her except her birth certificate and first born child (kinda ticked her off). This was on Sat.
So today she has the police call the store and wants her and the other girl to go in and do some sort of "voice analysis test" or they would "Look guilty".
Turns out 4 days AFTER the cops found a number to call in the wallet, the lady comes in insisting that there was $600 and that they had stole the money.
Cops said they would view the videos from the cameras, but if they didn't do the voice test, they would "Look guilty"
Kinda ticks me off, she's pretty upset about it too

Tell you what Rugs, it pizz's me off too and I've never met your wife and only been lucky enough to be around you one time. What a joke that whole situation is. Sorry she's going through it.

Problem is the cops found the number, I don't think anyone at the store knows who she is yet.
They did say she was old and could be "confused" but I didn't like how the cops insinuated guilt if they didn't volunteer to take the test.

I just don't get people these days! You go out of your way to help them and you end up being treated that way. Your wife did the right thing Rugs and is a better person for it even if some @#$&*% is not being truthful.

Man that really sucks! You would think this person would be grateful that someone honest like your wife found it. She should tell Barney Fife to go to H*!! and to try and prove otherwise. Any moron could figure out that someone would take all the money and pitch the wallet, not take part of it and turn the rest in. Sorry your wife has to deal with these idiots!

What the hell does a voice test have to do with found property? I'd tell them to go screw themselves. If they want a voice test and are accusing her of something tell them to get a warrant then talk to your attorney.
