Default what I didnt tell you about stockton

Friday the 14th== I get to the ramp, big boat sitting there running, running, running, and this guy says to me it wont shut off, ? yea it just keeps running, well what do you know, a marine mec. is there working on a jet ski. and he offers to assist, pops the cowll and messes arround, motor dies, inboard, so I hobble up the hill, and get truck and they have the boat on the trailer, by hand. and the guy starts to pull up and bam the tow strap snaps, boat slides and stops just short of falling off, he backs up they get it on the trailer again. I am still watching in amazement is this how I look at the ramp. any way he explains he just bought the boat and the guy said it was like new. heard that one befor, any way I wait till they head up the ramp and I start to load my rig, hit the center like you are suppose to , eased up the trailer, hooked on the cable, sinched up the winch, went up the hill, all is well,,,,,,,, I told you that to tell you this,,,, Buzzman mo has those slick sticks on his trailer and I decided to put them on my trailer. and man do they make loading easy, just ease the boat on the trailer and zip right up. slick as two snotts on a door knob, DONT BACK DOWN THE RAMP WITH THE STRAP UP DONE THE BOAT WILL SLIP DOWN THE TRAILER, no it hasnt happened to me. but I can see how it could. later all go fish

Default I had a close call once

Loaded by myself, but I have always watched my boat on the trailer very close as I leave the water, started up the ramp and had forgot to snap the little winch catch. boat slid back about 2' but I seen it ... backed back down and done it all again and right this time, but if I hadn't been watching the boat would have stayed and me and the trailer would have come up the hill....... all most a Beagle day for sure........

I watched a fish/ski boat slide off the trailer going up the ramp at the dead sea (Lake Girardeau) on time. The guy was in a hurry. It took 3 of us close to an hour to push/winch it it back on enough so he could get backed into the water. It had to total the bottom of the boat. Fiberglass skid mark half way up the ramp. After that, I always make sure the safety chain is attatched after winching on.

Well JJ and I saw the same thing today as we were coming into the dock. A guy was loading his boat and after they hooked it up his wife went to pull up the hill and bam the strap breaks lucky for them most of the trailer was still in the water. It did not help that his wife took off fast instead of just pulling the boat out. It took them from the time I went to get the truck until I was waiting in line to load to get it up the hill and then she parks right in everyones way and husband it yelling at her which did not help matters so he gets out of the boat and walks up to the truck window and yells at her some more so she guns it and pulls out of the parking lot. Not sure where she went but was glad she moved.

Well We Have Had A Close Call A Time Or Two Ourselves. I Hate Boat Winches! And Pw58 Sometimes Doesn't Double Check Before She Pulls The Boat Out Of The Water. But We Have A Safety Chain Of About 3 Or 4 Links With A Snap That We Hook Up Plus One Of Those Boat Buckle Bow Tie Downs. I Don't Just Trust The Strap On The Winch Or Winch.

Great, now you guys have given me something else to worry about as my trailer doesn't have a safety chain. Looks like it'll have one soon.
