Default Question? Is this considered a Spider Rig?

Here in Idaho we can use two poles. Okay, my partner and I troll out the back of the boat. Fishing two downriggers and two leaded lines off the port and starboard sides. Would this be considered spider rig fishing? All rods are 8.6ft. Thanks-Medium Heavy Rods.

If I saw you fishing, I'd say you were just trolling. A spider rig looks just like it sounds. Multiple poles fanned out looking like spider legs coming off your boat . Our spider rig set up is 8 poles across the front of the boat 4 rods per person, each pole ranging from 10 to 12 feet, tightlining and trolling slooow. We have a dual seat setup in the front. The theory is, the longer the pole, the better so you can get it as far away from the tm as possible. My problem is those 14 and 16 foot poles are just too much for this 5' 2" fisherwoman.

Generally, when spider rigging, you are pushing your baits.
