Default Mounting a trolling motor question

I have this Mercury Thruster II bow mount trolling motor that I could get really cheap. The only place I can mount it so I can use the foot control would be where you see it in the picture. It isn't up in the front like most, so will it still pull the boat around ok?
I could probably get longer cables, but that will cost more than I am going to pay for this unit.
I think the motor is supposed to be 35 or 40 lbs thrust which is about the minimum for a boat as big as this (15 ft. aluminum).
Just asking before I drill holes and stuff to try it out.
    Thanks Q

Looks good to me also. Mount it up and catch some fish.

Many years ago I mounted one on a similar boat, but I put it on the other side of the steering wheel, the wheel was a bit offset from center and there was more room on that side for me to stand "up front" and fish.
