I dont have the Trac but I do have two Minn Kota 18s. They are equipped with 15 lb. mushrooms. My boat is a 16 ft. Fish-Master F-glass c-console and they hold good. I spider-rig and fish by myself a lot and they sure save me a lot of hassle and work. My Son bought these for my Birthday several yrs. back. He joked that it might extend my fishing life if I didnt have to pull anchors.LOL Hes Right but I sorta think he dont like pulling anchors when he gets to fish with me. I found out quick that they need a deep cycle battery source for the two. I love mine. Bottombumper

I have 2 minn-kota 18's on the 17' Crappie Master i just bought. Tried them out last Monday and they hold pretty good for the size of the boat. I'm happy with them.

I had a MinnKota on a boat years ago and liked it, just don't forget and
run in rough water without the latch locked - breaks a gear in the drive
an easy not-to-expensive fix, but a bummer nonetheless.

Only thing I've seen with the tracs is they are pretty noisy comparatively...
