    Default Be Quiet!

A loud angler disturbs everyone and usually hinders people from catching Crappies. Being quiet is the simplest tip I can give someone to improve their fishing. Don't drop your can of pop in the boat. Don't slam the livewell door. Don't stumble around in the boat. Stay organized so you can find things without making noise. Sometimes you have to make a longer cast to structure and cover because they are "
Spooked" by the noise. Shhhhhhhhhhh........Shhhhhh......."Fish on!"

To each his own...but I've played the radio for lord knows how many years while crappie fishing and haven't noticed any difference in the catch ratio. I would agree that loud noises should be minimized as much as possible.

Read somewhere that talking does not effect fishing as it is not transmitted thru the water such as dropping object

I think it really depends on where your fishing. If your fishing on a popular lake, one with many boaters, the fish are used ot the noise and may actually be suspect if your not being noisy. If your on a lake with little to no pressure, they may spoke at the shadow of your boat.

Normal talking, or playing a radio, is not a problem. Please note I stated "LOUD talking" .......yelling and stuff like that.

My grandfather did not put up with any noise in the boat. Back in his time, we did not fish real deep water, as we do today. We caught tons of White Perch. I just read an article about how far a catfish can hear you talking and walking to the water. Do not remember where the article was. It was like a hundred yards from the water.
