Set a time to go and go. It is that simple. If anything or anyone tries to disrupt your plan do not allow it. When I am taking my last breath I will not wish I had worked one more minute. Of course that does not mean not taking care of your family.

See if the activities coordinator (also known as the wife) has any plans for me or any chores that need done. Then tell her when Im going fishing. I prefer ti get out in the morning, first light. Generally she makes plans for us at night, and she does her errands during the day, so mornings work best for me. Granted I try to stay on the water until I have to leave to get home for dinner. I try to get home 1 hr prior to dinner just to offer my help with dinner. She doesn't take me up on it, unless we are cooking on the grill. I do all the grill cooking. Took me a couple years to work the kinks our of the system, but it works pretty well now. :D

Its what works for me, everyone one is different.

    Default Good wife!

All I have to do is mention fishing and the wife says what time
are WE leaving! She puts her own bait on(even leeches), uses only
Trilene XL, tells me how she wants her rod built (I'm a rod builder)
backs the truck up to the launch, got her own pee bucket, and heaven
forbid, if I say maybe I should mow the grass or whatever, she says "
that can wait til another day". Never once griped about the gazillions of dollars I spend on boats, gadjets, jig material, rod building supplies or anything else to do with fishing!!!! I think I got me a keeper, whadda
    think?
