Sounds like things may be stabilizing a little, I sure haven't found anything consistent the last couple times I've been out. Nice job and thanks for the report...hope to get after em soon!
Took a neighbor to Smithville yesterday and fished the timber between Trimble lake and Rock cove. We ended up with 20 crappie 10-14 inches and 1 catfish. That was my best day yet there, I had 13 of the crappie and threw back a half dozen or so fish that were 9-10 inches. Had to be in 22-24 foot of water, any shallower or deeper and we couldn't get a bite. The fish were down 10- 13 feet. I started out with blk/chart tube on top and a white curly tail grub on bottom. The bigger fish was hitting on the white grub, so I went to a single jig withe the white. My neighbor started out with blue/white tube and was catching a lot of smaller fish then changed to a chart grub and got some bigger fish. He had the big fish of the day at 14 inches. We were out from 6:30 am until 12:30 pm but the bite slowed down after 11:00

Matt sounds like were going to have to go deep next time. Lots of reports on deep brush. Dave
