    Default river crappie in MO?

what's the best river to catch crappie in?

i've had some luck at the Niangua in a couple spots on a canoe trip several years back and wanted to try my luck out of a canoe again one day...

If your up for the drive some day, springriver up stream from carthage, several good holes, also springriver up from 97 highway just south of old rout 66, caught several crappie on springriver. smallies also, and goggle eye, good crappie on the sac river below stockton dam, when they let out water and good wading if not, that's a partial listing in my area and I have more.

I would think the upper Marais des Cygnes above Butler would be some great fishing, not much access though. Watch out for the Kansas line! Maybe the Pomme de Terre above and below the Pomme lake, the Sac river up around the 54 Highway bridge?

Caught a few from the Gasconade in the Lebanon / Richland area over the years while float fishing for bass/goggleye, always in still water, a back slough or slow eddy. Talked at length to an old timer 15 years ago on the Gasconade that would tie up right in the middle of the biggest log jams he could find in long eddies and fish minnows straight down in the openings, claimed at times he could catch good numbers, had 8 on a stringer the day we saw him.
