    Default Handheld GPS

I am interested in a hand held GPS. What are your guys feelings on models, brands, ect? I would like one that has lakes on it. I know a couple of you have Garmin 70 series that may work ok. I also looked at the eTrex Legend. I want to sink some boo of my own soon and want a way to easily find it along with other uses. Thanks......

Don't get the Lowrance H20. Terrible tracking at slow speeds.

It's great if you're going at least 4 or so mph. under that, never had any luck. seemed to freeze up or just lose track. could just be my unit or operator error i guess.

i love my H20!! i broke down and got the Navionics chip and it's a sweet setup. not very hard to figure out and its definetly help put fish in the boat and mark spots easily. seeing that it aint HD i bought the 2008 chip. saved about 60 bucks doing that. i use mine not only to fish but it's worth its weight in gold on the poker runs in other states that are on the Chip. shows depth, markers, channels all that you'd ever need to Navigate a strange lake. you can get them on ebay cheap and the chip also. i got around 200.00 in mine whole setup and its done it's job. i personally havent had any trouble at slow speeds. and the sink your own rigs(GPS) has been dead on almost every time. shop around and see what you like, but my opinion the card brings it life 100%.
One thing you can give and keep is your WORD.

God gave us fishing to cure all that worries us!!

etrex vista hcx has been awesome for me. got it off walmart's website for 149, bps wanted 299 for the exact same unit.

use in on road trips, marking duck holes, fishing spots. never had a prob. with it and it's dead on.

If you buy maps for it, get the ones on DVD, and get yourself a microSD chip.
