    Question Drawdown on Norris Lake...

...does anyone know why the TVA has apparently begun an early drawdown on Norris Lake, TN? It's at least 6-8 ft lower than the last time I looked...

Bushrod, I think they are drawning down Tims Ford early too. I know this time last year the water was alot higher. I was catching alot of fish this time last year and they seem to be absent this year. The ones I am managing to catch are small ones.

Norris is in the normal range for this time of
year according to the TVA website. Check out:

    http://www.tva.com/river/lakeinfo/op_guides/norris.htm

TVA has these guides for all of their lakes.

It is not really early for the draw down to begin
it is scheduled to start on aug 1 but tva has
been doing a little better job holding them up
longer you also have to consider that we are
about 6-7 inches below normal on rainfall

I thought since they did not bring the lakes up as soon this spring they were going to hold off on dropping the bottom out of them till a month later too?
I guess that means the ole trolling motor gets a work out getting out to the main river channel. I wish they would just FIX the ramps when they don't have any water on them. They are in awfull need of repair.
If in doubt, cross their eyes!!
