Anyone lose a tire up there in Patoka?

This egret is watching over it for you.

The Fishing Hot Spots map of Patoka Lake shows areas with a * that the map notes as HAZARDS. Actually those HAZARDS are the fish attractors that the Corp of Engineers or IDNR put into the lake before it was flooded.

If you were near an area that has a * on the map in the location where you took that picture then it could mean that the cable holding the tires in place could have broke and released some tires.

They made some man made reefs out of groups of old tires.

We did fish over top of some of those attractors purposefully, but I don't recall if that was one of the locations or not......I didn't think they would have made those out of tires.....isn't that illegal now to dump tires into the lake for attractors? Maybe back then it wasn't.....

Nice shot of a Great Blue Heron. Shame the tire messes up the photo's composition. - Roberta

An old tire makes a great spot to beach a boat without scratching up the keel, but you are supposed to take it with you when you leave.
