I have stumbled upon a great rig for catching crappie, and also bluegill, perch, and small bass.

It's a
-Southern Pro Tiny Tail, orange
-on a bright green mini-mite jig
-tipped with a Berkely Pink "Crappie Nibble"
Works fast too, I can go without the crappie nibble and still catch crappie, but the nibble works almost every cast. With a regular mini-mite, my results are not nearly as good, the extra bit on the tail reaally helps. I go through at least a tail every time I go out, bluegills and such just rip them off eventually . Has anyone else tried something similar?

Good for you tazman and welcome to the site from Louisiana. Where you from and show us some pictures of your catches. Not that we wouldn't believe you but you know, you are a fisherman. Ha.

Here's a 9 incher from my latest trip to Hayward, WI. I got a 10.5" largemouth on the described rig above last night . I live on a lake near Milwaukee, WI and go up to Hayward every once and a while. Oh, and I love catching crappie. :D
Keep us posted on the new rigs that work for you. And welcome to the best crappie website ever.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Crappie are the best to catch and you can take 'em all sorts of ways. I do real well over here in the clear lakes with panfish assassins in the tomato seed, albino shad, and orange sparkle. Live minnows do well too.

Unapplied biblical truth is like unapplied paint...how many gallons do you have sittin' around? U.D.
Thanks for the info.
