    Default Toronto 6-21

Finally! After a year of listening to everyone talk about it, I finally managed to visit the famed 'Lake of Slabs'. Made the trip down with my bass fishin' buddy, KScrankbait, to search out some of these legendary fish. We put in at exactly the same time it started raining, 7:30am. Couldn't shed the rain gear until noon. The front moved over and just camped on us all morning. 30% chance of isolated storms my butt!!

In between showers, we managed to get a half dozen nice white bass, but not a single crappie. Once the rain stopped at noon, we started to find a pattern that worked a bit. From noon to 2pm, we caught some dippin trees in 12 fow. Trees in any other depth didn't produce a thing. Ended up with 10 keepers. One of which was my first 15 incher and three others were in the 14" class! Although it was not fast and furious yesterday, the quality of fish in that lake is something else!! We talked to a CO who said he witnessed a couple of 4#'ers during this spring's KDWP netting I can't wait to make it back under some more stable weather conditions. Thanks for all the advance info everyone!

Congrats on the 15"er, Eric. You should hit Toronto when it's good....say mid to late July or early August. I'm planning on going a couple of times during that period. Come on down.

I was down there on Saturday, I had the little lady with me so we sat in the truck while the majority of the rain was coming down. We ended up with six keepers in the 10-11" range. Dipping trees in 10-12 fow. Electric Chicen and Orange Chartreuse slab slayer's.

    Unhappy

:DLucky, I'm thinking I unloaded beside you Sat. morning( white Champion)> My luck didn't run very good at all.Besides getting soaked and not catching anything but channel, my engine throwed a fit, it just quit running in middle of rain. Think I have it fixed now, fuel problems. The good side is I have fourteen days there to correct the fishes attitude.
I am glad to be here, but at my age, I'm glad to be anywhere.

CAMO - try and talk to KCMO Crappieslayer. I think he knows that lake better than anyone. He's sure had some good catches down there.

labsnslabs & Wizzie, wish I woulda known that was you guys. Woulda been great to say hello! I'll try to do better next time. Wizzie - nice boat; sorry to hear about the troubles. Sounds like the weather is going to stabilize this week for you, nice and hot, just they way the experts on this board like it!
