    Default Saturday at Smithville

Tough fishing today. Started at 8:00 at the W Bridge. Water was real clear, about 2-3' and temp 78. Fished up the arm by Trimble. Water was stained and a lot of floating timbers. Caught 15 (kept 6) in no more than 15' of water. They were about 9' down. Tried to fish deep water. Found schools, but no bites. Had to fish a lot of trees. Seems like 1 or 2 keepers per tree. Going to get fun playing hide and seek with the crappie during the summer.

Anyone else have a report? Anyone try the main lake brush piles yet?

What were you using to get them to bite? I threw every color in my arsenal to get those deep water crappie to bite, but they would not.
