Had a lot of fun at the Horse last weekend. 8 of us went and caught over 400 nice Blue Gill. Some were still on beds and some were in 20 foot of water. Throw in some Red Ear and it was catching catching catching. That is 400 keeper Blue Gill we caught so many fish it was impoosible to keep track of them all. The weeds are already encroaching into the shoreline water so before long it will be a deep water night fishing extravaganza for anyone going there.
All my buddies caught Red Ear but I gotta admit I didnt even have a hint of one. They all fished deeper than I did though. I was fishing one to two foot deep and just slayed the big Perch and Blue Gill. It is an excellent lake but about now it gets a lot of weeds in the water out to about 15 foot deep. I like to go before the weeds encroach on my fishing. I also caught some of the biggest Goggle Eye that I have ever caught this trip.
Fish.On - Please clarify what you are calling a goggle eye. Are you referring to a green sunfish? There are no warmouth in American Horse which is a.k.a a goggle eye.
fishon, have you been on Keystone lately??
Awesome! Thanks for the great report
Can you put a boat on American Horse Lake? I may have to check it out! Great report
Everyone has a secret talent they didn't know about until tequila.
Yes, you can put a boat on it, the ramp is pretty simple tho, its small and if I remember right, you don't have a lot of concrete on it either.
Cricket you could have fooled me cause I caught them and ate them. Sorry folks I was a counselor for a church camp and was away for 1 1/2 weeks. Those little folks liked to killed me. I never knew I had that many pain centers. I had the nine year olds and won't be doing that again any time soon. I am getting way too old for that. Definitely are warmouth on AH though. I have not been to keystone but am wanting to go real bad now that my back is getting rested up. Lord I was hurting.
