    Default Why type pole?

What type pole do you use

    1.) Old fashion Cane pole?

    2.) Fiberglass?

    Why?

Fiberglass, mainly because they are telescopic, and because thats what I have always used and know nothing else. When they are shallow on the spawn, using a canepole is my favorite way to fish.

When the Panfish and Crappie are shallow I use B n M black widows,or anytime my daughters are with me.Although they're never seen or even sold in stores around here (Wilson N.Y.)I don't think they can be beat in the right time and place.I use a BnM custom Jig rod also.

Fiberglass for close in because they're strong and weight is not a factor. For anything over 15 or 16', I prefer graphite -- much lighter and easier to handle at those lengths.

Any of them that I can get a line & hook wet on.
Im not picky when it comes to havin some R&R.

I have $150 custom rods, but still perfer them lousy $20-$30 rods myself.
I guess when 1 of my 5 yard apes breaks one it isnt no big deal.

    Default Fiberglass...

due to them being telescopic and store easier in the boat. Use BnM Black Widow 13.5' for pushing baits up here where the waters are pretty clear and the specks are spooky.

BPS Pro Comp II Ultra light. It's what I'm most confortable with - never had a chance to do any wifhing with all the BMSN WM rods
