Default 2 stroke or 4 stroke??

I am needing some help, I have a 1994 50hp Evinrude (2 carb's), I am needing to know if it is a 2 or 4 stroke engine. The reason I ask is for oil purpose. I am leaning toward it being a 2 stroke but I just want to make sure. If anyone can let me know and maybe explain to me why it is that way that would be great.

A 1994 Evinrude 50HP would be a 2 stroke. I have to say this to you, please get yourself a manual for that motor or find an experienced 2 stroke man to help you out with it. Not knowing if it is a 2 stroke motor, or a 4 stroke, means you have no knowledge of their operation or care. A 2 stroke motor burns a gas oil mix for lubrication. That motor probably came with a remote oil tank and an automatic oil mix system. Many people removed the oil mix system and just used premixed gas in the fuel tank. You have to know if your engine has a remote oil tank and an automix system, or do you need to premix yourself. Running the motor without knowing how it's oiled could result in immediate destruction of the motor! Get some experienced help!
