    We went out of southwest pass on saturday we got 47 specks all on live shrimp under popping cork no real big ones but all good size to eat fishedName:  southwest pass.jpg

    not a salt water angler, what kind of fish is that? looks like a trout to me.

    The official name for them is spotted sea trout but everyone just calls them specks.

    That's a real nice bunch of specks! I fished Buras with my Dad and Brother a few years ago in the spring. We had a great time down there!

    nice mess of specks right there! I took my kids out of Keaton Beach, FL couple weeks ago and may head out again this weekend. We didn't catch as many as ya'll do over there but we did have some really nice ones and my oldest caught a 24" one! Some really good eating fish too!
