Very nice fish.
Nice ones!
Excellent 'crackers! That's what I'm on about! The KING of panfish, IMHO, YMMV, etc.... :ThumbsUp
Curious about your temp and the depth/structure you are finding them? I'm striking out the whole month, and wondering where they are! I give up, and go crappie fishing, waiting for the full moon. :dono
The water temperature here is in the middle 50s which is relatively warm for this time of year. These fish gather in basically what amounts to a pond that is connected to lake Barkley via an old culvert pipe. They swim through the culvert opening every spring and forage heavily prior to nesting. There's also lots of rocks that often have snails present; it's a quality habitat for sure. It's only 2.5-3ft deep right now but will eventually be 6ft plus once they raise the lake in April.
Those are a blast on UL equipment. When I can find them..
