    Default Favorite Rod

I’ve bought several rods over my lifetime, searching for that perfect rod . I own 80+ ultralight and light action rods from 4’6” to 9’ and a lot in between.
A rod that lets me enjoy the little ones , but will handle a nice fish when needed .
    I think I found that rod .
The rod is a JDM rod but an entry level one .
I don’t see how a more expensive rod could please me more than this rod .
It’s an Abu Garcia Mass Beat III four piece travel rod .
    These are the specs
    Total length (ft/cm): 6'3"/190.5; Specifications: 20.5; Standard weight (oz): 78; Lure (g): 1.5 - 5.0; Line (lb): 1.5 - 5.0; Materials: 98% carbon, 2% glass; Power L/Light
I fish it with either a Daiwa Fuego 1000 LT spooled with 2# P-line Floroclear or a Shimano 500 size reel spooled with the same line .
My largest fish , so far was a nice hybrid that took me thirty minutes to beach .
I’ve caught several nice spotted bass on it .
I’m including a stock pic and a few pics of fish I’ve caught on this rod .

You do spend a lot of time with it. Those are some nice fish, the striper especially.

I got mine off Amazon? It ships from Amazon Japan .
    Search -
Abu Garcia MBS-602XUL/622LS/634L III Area Trout Rod, Spinning Mass Beat III
At the moment they are just under $70 . And free shipping with Prime .
The price fluctuates, but that’s about average.
    A bargain IMO .
Some folks may not like it , but it just fits my hand like a wand . And the quality for the money is unbelievable.
