With my tackle (and old brain) it’s possible for a reel or rod to get forgotten.
This is what happened to my Shimano Soare BB 500SPG , until I read recently Skeetbum posted about issues he was having with his reel he had just purchased.
So I got mine out and spooled it up with some P-line Floroclear and mounted it on a 5’ St Croix Avid UL .
    What a light combo at 6.5oz .
Back to the reel . Skeet , I’m sorry you’re experiencing issues with your Soare BB , but mine is performing perfectly. Smooth winding , no issue with the handle knob , except I find it a little on the small size for my fingers .
And the drag operates smoothly with a nice click .
I think you got a dud , as it sometimes happens , like when I ordered a Shimano Ultegra , that has a spool that sticks at the bottom of the spool stroke .

I plan on taking to y Soare BB , Avid combo fishing soon , I’ll let you know if anything develops.

I did some minor surgery on the BB. I disassembled the handle knob and found very little lube there so I added a few drops of the red Lucas oil I keep around And it’s not sticky anymore. Then I went after the spool/drag. Removed the spool and popped the drag disc out to find just a hint of oil on it too. I have some drag grease that’s kinda cream color and has done well for me, so it got a coating of that. I applied the grease with a stick q tip and took that when I was done and reassembled and ran the greasy cotton tip around the vertical section inside the spool where the drag knob would ride. Haven’t had a chance to get it wet but the knob is much better and the drag seems to slip a whole lot better than it did before. Will no doubt get it wet this weekend and bring you up to speed. Thanks for your interest, I have high expectations.

I’ve bought very few reels that didn’t need a little lubrication somewhere .
Hope it works out for you .
