Default I don’t like this Weather

    I don’t like the weather we’re having .
Cloudy mid 40’s and windy .
I can handle colder temperatures with sun and light breezes , but not this .
And the ten day forecast doesn’t show a lot of improvement.
With all this extra time on my hands , it can get expensive . Especially with the sales coming up .

I can even take the lower temps and elephant sky, but somebody has GOT to turn the fan down or I can’t go anywhere. My ramps are still closed so I’ve been chasing some clay targets. Good bunch of folks and it sure beats sitting around..

We don’t see much snow around here. Maybe once a year and it’s usually gone in a couple of days .
I dislike snow and especially ice more than cloudy windy weather .

I got to fish for thirty minutes today while my wife was getting her hair done.
Because of other family obligations this was my only chance and I take whatever I can get
Sunny , a little windy , gusts to 16mph according to weather app , about 1 1/2 hours before sunset . So the temps were beginning to drop .
I did get to try out a rod ii haven’t fished in awhile, so something was accomplished.
I was using a 6’6” St Croix Premier Light fast rod paired with a Daiwa Legalis LT 2000s .
I fished a 1/16 trout magnet with a Bobby Garland Itty Bitty swim’R and was surprised at the distance I was able to get , even with the wind . I got one tap in the 15 minutes I fished it .
Switched to a 2.5g silver spoon and while fishing the boat ramp hooked into what felt like a nice fish .
I had it on for at least 30 seconds playing it , not trying to rush it and all of a sudden the hook pulled loose. .
About three weeks ago , the exact same thing happened at the same location , on the same lure .
The spoon has a size 8 Gamakatsu Siwash single hook . The hook looks plenty big enough for most fish . The gap is larger than most size 8 hooks I have .
I’m thinking both times , the fish was only skin hooked . It most likely swiped at the spoon and the hook did its job , but not deep enough to hold .
It was great to get out and I enjoyed fishing with the longer rod . Perfect for swimming a jig or throwing spoons .
