Pretty trout .
Going help you forget all those bluegills , shellcrackers, and crappie you left behind .

Watched first half of TN game then my host knocked on door and asked did I want to go fishing. What a silly question! Grabbed the Abu Garcia Carabus 66 rod with the Zenon 1000S reel spooled with Varivas Infinity PE 8 5.6# test line and headed out the door. Tied on a 2.8 gram Forest MIU Abalone spoon and it was just about a trout on every cast for 2 hours. The setup I am using gives great feedback on the hit and also gives quick hook-sets. The feeling one gets using this rod when fishing a spoon on the swing out of a riffle is just pure joy! Was offered a free guide trip on the river for this Thursday but will be too busy at new house build…believe you me I hated to pas that up.

Nice pics. Good times
I tell ya…..I do miss my panfish. I have not really had time to hunt for bank spots on a couple of lakes nearby. Plus I am really mulling over what kind of boat I want. A trout boat would be ideal for the river but don’t relish putting a trout boat on the lake. Can’t afford 2 boats so I’ve got to make a decision. But I don’t want to give up the panfishing.

We have some nice trout waters just north of me , beginning in the north metro Atlanta area and on up through the mountain areas of north Georgia .
I used to tolerate the traffic to go fish for them , but I got to where I rather stay on the south side and chase my panfish .
Plus the last time I drove the over two hours to my favorite spots , on a week day , the streams were just too crowded .
But I enjoy seeing the pictures and hear the stories of others.
Thanks for sharing!

Just 2-hour drive? I would do it blindfolded, Gillchaser. Just kidding of course. My closest trout water out of Sin city is a little over 5 hours in any direction: north to Salt Lake area for some mountain Tigers or provo river brown, southeast towards Arizona White mountain for some wild Apache trouts, and of course the 5 hour toward the Nevada sierras hunting the very elusive California Golden trouts! All of which are on my bucket list. Beautiful outing as always, Alphahawk!

The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Very nice
I do miss fishing some of the stream's I used to fish for trout in. But at this point in my life I'd probably spend to much time picking myself up from yet another fall. Learned fishing on trout in the late 1940's and early 1950's. Back then I gouldn't tell a trout from a zebra, but whatever we were doing was fun! Love that river he's fishing in. I could not stand on the bank and fish it, would have to be wading and probably then spend most my time picking myself up! Beautiful stream!!!
