    Default U/L creek fishin adventures

Had caught two decent smallies & a few short ones as I reached the narrow end of this gravel bar. Holy Cow! This last fish hit hard and my first thought was I'm gonna need the net.(which I forgot to grab out of the back of the Blazer) When this fish headed downstream all I could do was hang on, then you are fighting the fish and the current which was pretty strong in this stretch. A very good drawn out fight ensued before I got my first look at which turned out to be another first for me in these creeks. Adding Freshwater Drum to that list. Finally was able to wear it down enough where I was able to beach it.(Sure missing that net now!)These fish got some shoulders on them and for sure ain't winnin no beauty contests. Put a real nice bend in that TFO trout/panfish U/L.Name: DSC02103.jpg

Things like that make me smile weeks after the event. Folks have to wonder if ive gone round the bend when they see me smiling, sitting behind the wheel, for no apparent reason. That’s a great place to fish and thanks for taking me along.

My brother and I use to fish for carp in a river on the north side of Atlanta with ultralights .
They made some great runs and a good drag was a must . We’d carry a bulk spool of line with us in case we got spooled , which happened more than you would think .
Great ultralight training for for catching monsters on light line .

These sort of UNKNOWN experiences is a part of fishing that keeps you coming back for more. Just reading your comments makes me laugh, knowing that when you read about this it would bring back memories of similar happenings on the water. Thanks!
