I’ve always put a leader between the swivel and spinner of about 12” . Shorter seems to affect the lure’s action .
Just getting into ultralight fishing and one of the lures I fish frequently is a Mepps spinner. I was wondering if anyone here uses micro snap swivels to prevent line twist and if so, for what lures? It seems they are advertised for use with spoons but I would imagine that would affect the action. Anyone have any experience with these?

Mostly use Raven ultra micro swivels, come in 4 sizes, all small for any lure if concern is line twist, a few feet up from lure. The micro snap swivel for line twist and quick change of lure. The duolock snaps and mustad hook snaps for quick change of lure. All my lures either have split rings or duolock snaps for proper action of lures or can be tied on with a loop knot. Spoons will not twist line if run at proper slow retrieve, but will if reeled too fast and start spinning. Here is a pic, all pretty small, hope this helps some. Thanks.

garroyo,
Forgot to mention that on any spinner I tie directly to spinner but always use one of the Raven swivels up the line. No need for a split ring on spinners, did not want to confuse.
