Default New JDM rod on the way

Woohoo! I’ve been on the waiting list for an Abu Garcia Eradicator Realfinesse ERFS-67SULT-ST-TZ Slow Taper Special for a few months now. Thanks to the great press on this forum it’s been on my “want” list for a while. The last time it came up on the JDM website, it was gone before I could place the order. When I saw the email first thing this morning, I pulled the trigger. We have a local pond that is stocked with trout (brown and rainbow) for the state Urban Fishing Program. Looking forward to giving this one a go!

I love mine. Looks great with the matching ABU Revo MGX THETA 1000S reel.

Good choice, ABU makes a quality rod and uses great blank components. I have two of their sticks and they do not disappoint in fun factor and performance.

I caught this 18” rainbow in a smaller stocked pond with the Slow Taper Special. Abu Garcia makes a good quality product.

Congrats on the new rod Jack. You’ll be like a kid at Christmas waiting for everything to be in your hand and the time to use it.

LOL, you’ve got that right! Right now I’m in the “should I get a new reel to go with it” or “should I be practical and use something I already have” mode. When explaining my thought process to my bride, her response was “what’s Randy of State Farm wearing?” She thought she was being funny! Actually, I’m glad she has a sense of humor about it.
