Got a week booked on the Little Red in July. Working on a week to book on the White. Lot of folks talk about brown trout…..but….I too prefer the rainbows….cutthroats….and cutbows. Caught a lot of browns on the Caney Fork…in my experience the bows and cutthroats fight considerably more.

One can get hooked real quick on trout fishing. When I first got into it I drove 93 miles one way for 5 days a week for about a year. I love catching Smallies…..shellcracker…..KY bass and bluegill…..but trout can truly become an obsession.

I really need to do an Arkansas trip. I do a Florida trip a couple of times a year and am trying to set up a western trout trip with some friends, but Arkansas is definitely in my future.

Thanks……when they get the flow down to where I can wade fish I’ll probably be over there everyday.

Trout are a lot of fun for sure. During the winter months from November through February the Conservation Department stocks rainbows in some lakes here and they stock one lake by my home with them. I don't like eating them but love catching them, especially when you hook a jumper that goes nuts and leaves the water several times. Now that's fun!!
