Are there some other stores to purchase rod & reels from beside Plat & Dit.

Do you have a specific rod and reel tour looking for. Might be able to help if we knew. Scott

No nothing specific other than spinning reel / ultra light to med action. Just hard to spend $600+ On a nice setup.

$600 isn’t the entry point. You can grab a really nice JDM set up for $350-$400. Take a look at the major craft finetail line and grab ya an Abu Garcia or Daiwa reel.

I have a Majorcraft 6'7" Benkei paired with a Daiwa Revros LT 2000s which is consider low JDM spooled with Varivas 3lb Super Trout advance Sight Edition and it way more sensitive that any USDM I have. If you do your research there are a lot of very nice JDM setups out there.

While I’m quite new to the JDM works, I would agree with TXPanfisher and Crappie Pro Wannabe on the Major Craft Finetail. I purchased the Major Craft Finetail FAX-632SUL and still can’t believe how much fun it is. I have a few “higher” end St.Croix and Loomis rods, but this is really a whole different level. Add some Varivas Twitch Master Line, (I’m trying a new Varivas line now) and you’ll have a smile on your face at the first hookup. Yes, it’s a little more than a number of other options, but I have found the additional money spent for the fun factor to be well worth it.
Just a quick admonition…..I have read in a number of threads that trying one of these may be hazardous to the health of your wallet. I can attest to that as I have added a Tict rod recently and it’s getting some use! Enjoy the search!

Thanks for the information. Maybe I didn’t make myself clear. The reason I was asking for other trusted store names was to find rods and reels at what I can afford.
Hatchetjack you are right. I have a 63xul on a Dawia reel and yes it is a blast. It’s all I want to fish with now.
Txpanfisher posted some store names which I checked out and found rods and reels more in line on what I can afford. Thanks for all the help
