Default Pelican 10 ft. With trolling motor

Does anyone fish for panfish out of these?

I saw a fella in one last year. Had a small Honda outboard, a trolling motor and electronics. He was fishing a line of blow downs at the edge of the channel. Bass boats come ripping through there wide open about 20 feet from you. He sat there unphased fishing along. Usually to rough for me to want to fish there on a busy day. Neat little setup

I assume you are talking about a 10 ft Pelican Bass Raider. If so, I used to own one and sold it to buy a FeelFree Lure 11.5 kayak. The kayak is way easier to get on and off the water. I have a pod mount Bixpy trolling motor and the battery is super lightweight (around 10 pounds). There are way more accessories for the kayak that are easy to install.

I am thinking about buying a 14' Jon Boat, but personally would never go back to the Bass Raider.

I had an 8’ model a lot of years ago and it was as stable as any boat I’ve ever been in. This one was short enough to go up and down the biggest of waves without coming over the side. I had a Ford van at the time and I would back in til the bumper was wet and the exhaust making funny noises and pull it into the van fully loaded minus the Tm. I liked it but moved into a bigger boat with an outboard.

I had a private lake for a few years and bought one of these for it and absolutely loved it. filled it with bass and bluegill all the time and it was great for getting to all the right places in the pads and along shore with lots o brush. good livewell in it as well as the seats were very comfortable. IF your on a place you don't have to take it in and out it's perfect but if your moving it around kind of cumbersome and at one point it started taking in water and would be full by end of day and you had to stand it on end and drain it first.

Saw a guy selling one online who modified it by putting marine plywood up front and then having a pedestal seat and could stand and cast which really made it super effecient and had a trailer. STILL kicking myself for not buying it as it was very reasonable cost.

have seen it on bigger public lakes with 5 hp gas motor on it and watched them ketchn very well when they didn't have to go very far on the water and they had a trailer for it. looked like modified jet ski one.

I've had an 11 footer with a Minn Kota troller for the past 20 or so years...absolutely love it. I can either trailer it or throw in the back of my Trailblazer. Even at 69 years old, it's still not too much of a problem to get in and out of anywhere I really want it to go. I had a bigger boat once before but gave it up due to throwing too much money into that hole in the water. Between that little boat and the myriad places I can get into to bank fish when I don't feel like taking the boat, my freezer is full and my fun meter is pegged. I don't believe I'll ever go back to a gas motored boat...

If you enjoy the kayak there would be no reason to go back to a regular boat. I fished out of a 11'6 pelican kayak years be fore they made fishing kayaks
