    Default Living the dream.

Well boys….I got an invite to fish off a guys dock this evening on the Little Red. The water was about 10 feet deep…. current dumping into a flat spot by the dock. I used the Niakis spinner and Susan….my wife….netted about 100 trout for me in 3 hours. I didn’t get any iPhone pics but got some great video footage. Most of the fish were at the 13 inch mark with a quite few at 14 inches. It was either a fish every cast or one or more hits on each cast…..many fish giving me several jumps. It was insane. The guy with me was using what he would normally use for that situation and was slow going. I gave him one of the spinners and it was game on for him too. I also tried out the Timon blade baits for trout. They would swarm that thing. The rod was the TenRyu Rayz Spectra 6’ 1” LL…..line was the 4# test Twitch Master. Decided to stay until Friday….LOL. Life is good and getting better!

Wow, a REAL nice trip and man the fish were cooperating. Congrats and an extension to your stay sounds like a plan. The current looks to be good and the water level looks to be decent! Fish on!

Thanks for the comments. Hard to fish the Little Red on 2 units with UL gear. Had the host of the Air BnB not taken pity on me and took me to a dock down from his it would have only been a few fish a day. Hoping to get on that dock at least once more before leaving Friday. Been a fantastic trip….vacation, here in Arkansas.

    Regards

If it gets better than that, please don’t tell me. Sounds like a great time Randy, enjoy the stay.

Trout river in Arkansas. It is world class. Even though I did not catch any big fish there are plenty of big ones in the river. It held the world record for a brown trout for a number of years. That fish…over 40 pounds….is the 3rd largest brown trout ever caught. The cabin I am staying at is at Cow Shoals….a catch and release areas that holds huge fish. Barbless hooks only in this section. Fishing this river on low flow, if you fished a full 8 hours, you could probably net over 200 trout in the 12-16 inch range. I have been out here quite a few times but this is my first trip back in about 4 years….but am already making plans to come back in the Fall.

    Regards

Wow, I am so glad you had such a wonderful trip.
In my humble opinion it doesn’t get any better than that!
