Nice two fish there. That Shellcracker was huge and on U/L must have been a blast!

Caught on the Tenryu Rayz Alter with the 1000 Ballistic. I actually just took the Ballistic off the Rayz Alter and put the ABU Theta that came in the mail today. Very impressed with the feel of that reel. The Ballistic now resides on the Shimano Soare.

Nice catch. I am going looking tomorrow at Nickajack but may not be able to put in due to debris. I think it will be another week before the water gets down for me to put in below the dam....the fish are there.....just can't get to them.

I hope you make a long video where you wear out the big redear!!!

I've found that they come up early here on Barkley and feed along the many rip rap and chunk rock banks. They must be searching for mussels, perrywinkles, etc. I do not think they're looking to nest yet as the water is only 59-60 degrees. I just can't seem to find them in numbers. Of course a couple of big bites like that typically satisfies me but still...

I hope I get to make a video. Center Hill Lake has a very real possibility of fish making beds and then the water going down and the spawn will be for nought. One can’t even get on the lake now as all the boat ramps are under about 10 feet of water....it’s pretty bad. Up on the lake at Nickajack the level is OK but will have to deal with muddy water and debris. Worst spring I’ve seen in quite a while with the high water. Thank goodness for the trout fishing....it’s keeping me going.

    Regards

Good deal. I always enjoy your fishing adventures, AH. Plus, we get to see new gear in action! Fish on.

The redear also root around rocks for crayfish. If you can find some about 2 inches long they will eat them. My 4-09 redear ate a crayfish about 3 inches long and another guy in the boat got a 3-02 five minutes later.
