I just can't even make myself use the St Croix/President rods and reels in my pole barn anymore. This JDM equipment is REALLY good stuff!! The sensitivity, build quality, and fun factor is crazy good. My high end rod is my little Tenyru Rayz Alter with a Daiwa Ballistic hanging off of it. You buy that setup new, you're gonna spend a bunch of . I bought it used from a member on this site.

My favorite JDM rod is also the cheapest and first one I ever purchased. My 7' Shimano Soare is a fish catching machine with my Shimano Stella 2000, 2018 model. Probably going to get the 7.5 foot model some day. I fish from the bank and carry 2-3 rods, all have been JDM the last few trips. Only bad part is I only use one at a time and the Soare is used more than the others.

I've got the Shimano Soare, too. It's actually sitting in my basement without a reel, hence my need to buy another JDM reel.

I think I'll put my Luvias 1003 on the Soare and then put the ABU Theta on my Finetail FAX.

Sorry to say, RDH, but it sounds like you are well down the road to perdition. Blame it on Randy! He has put many of us on that road!

The Theta is once again out of stock....LOL. I just gave away about 700 bucks worth of fishing gear to an 12 year old kid that I have never laid eyes on. One item I gave him was the first Luvias I ever bought...still as good as the day I bought it...except for scratches and such. The only US domestic products I have left are Trout Magnet bodies. I am a lost cause...no going back for me. Am now on a journey to find a suitable jig head replacement for the Gekkabijin jig heads. I will make it through this year with the Daiwa jig heads but sooner or later they will run out. Have an order coming from Chris today of more Forest MIU spoons. Have an order of jig heads in route from Digitaka also. Sooner or later we will get back to normal and when we do I plan on trying out some high end area trout rods....hybrid light game rods....and I will get a very short trout stream rod...in all likelihood another Tenryu Rayz Spectra. Life's a journey and I am marching on!

    Regards

I don't use my Soare SS that much anymore, but it is a really good value for money, and Shimano's blank tech is incredible. I have a high end Shimano rod on the way and am looking forward to finding out what they have to offer in their top models.

My freshwater fishing has come to a halt, because saltwater offers too much fun these days. I can't really use anything shorter than about 7' from the shore, so I need to start looking for ways to get some turnover in my arsenal.
