That rod should provide loads of fun. I’d like to see you fighting a big one on it!

I needed a rod for a light reel I had a while back and bough a rod/reel outfit for $20, figured the rod was worth it and didn't care about the reel. The reel is a Shakespeare Crusader. Had another rod rod laying around I'd never considered using The thing is one of those feather light, Yellow, 6' 6" Eagle Claws. Thought about that reel laying around doing nothing and put it on that Eagle Claw just for grins. have never liked yellow rods and never tried one of those Eagle Claws, boy is this rod got a slow action! Ever get to where I can get my boat on the Res over in Prineville I'm gonna try fishing with this thing. Of course with a yellow rod I will wear sun glass's so no one can recognize me! Actually I really do like ultra light rod and reels. My favorite ultra light right now Is a 5'6" Ocuma with a really small Ocuma reel on it filled with 2# test SOS line, wonderful rod and reel! For line if you can find it, years ago in Germany I got nylon sewing thread from the BX and used it on my ultra light 308. Tested it with a fish scale and it tested at 1#. Had to watch how hard you set the hook or you'd break the line. Ah it was called Crystal sewing thread.
