    Default Triple Cross Beatdown

I took another half day from work and hit the lake with my dad. We fished from around 1 to 5:30. I started the day tossing bobby garlands on the 6.10L Abu and caught a few gills and a smallie but no crappie. Dad quickly hooked up with a crappie float fishing with his 7.3 Triple Cross and I had second thoughts about casting for them. I started float fishing with my 6.9 Triple Cross and the beatdown commenced. The bite was fast and furious for a good bit and we put together a nice mess for the freezer. I kept my limit of 15 and my dad added 12 more. The fish were nice and thick and had the drag screaming on my Luvias. I ended up with a nice thick 15” fish half way through my limit that gave me all I wanted on 2lb sos (my preferred float fishing line). I gave the 15” slab a pass and slipped him back in the water but the others were not so lucky. I hope you all get out and get you some soon!

Heck yea, a fine mess of Specks. The Triple Cross is an excellent float rod, and the Tubular version with flat shoot a jig under a dock. Good catch, congrats.

A nice catch of fish, and good to leave some good ones behind to make some new good ones down the road.

Great catch, really healthy crappie. Now that's the type of day I want. Ice is melting fast here.

Got out for another quick trip yesterday and fished from 12:30 till 5:30. The wind was absolutely horrible and didn’t do much good until around 3:30. I left biting fish to head home to the kiddos. Caught 11 crappie with 8 keepers and quite a few gills with 2 keepers. I fished the Triple Cross again with float and plastics. Even with the wind it was still better than being at work. Haha
